Power of Words 

Restoration and Healing

Prayer:

Father, fill our hearts and minds with Your Words.  We will speak words of life and health and abundance.  Life is in the power of our tongue, and we will release Your life into our circumstances.  Amen!

You’ll find that finding the power in your words is actually part of your faith, and renewing your mind. 

In Mark 11: 20-24 

Jesus and his followers had previously passed a fig tree that didn’t have figs for them to eat, so Jesus cursed it.  Mark 11:12

The next morning they passed by it again, seeing now that it was withered away to the roots.  

And the disciples were astonished.  They didn’t see the results immediately, but they saw it the next day.  

Jesus says: 

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

John 1 (also Gen 1)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

Proverbs 23:7

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee

Matthew 15:18 

But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.

Ephesians 4:29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

James 3:3-6 NLT

The tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.

James 3:10 NLT 

And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!

If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies

How you see yourself determines your physical health.  

How do you see yourself in the midst of your symptoms?  How about when your doctor gives you that diagnosis? The doctor, who has faith in the disease more than God’s healing? 

You are Not sick trying to get healed.  

You Are a Child of God, healed, experiencing symptoms or a disease process that you do not agree with.   

Why are you afraid?  Fear is a liar and is of the enemy, just like the symptoms that are plaguing you. 

How will you convince your own senses that you are healed?  Visualize. Keep reading God’s promises until they push out all of the fear.  Act (and believe) as though you have conquered the symptoms already and are watching them slowly die off.  

Anyone ever watch the movie Carrie?  Where the main character, Carrie, gets a bucket of blood dumped on her head at prom?  What if that was the blood of Jesus, that literally is washing away the symptoms.  That’s a powerful visualization. 

Luke 8:11 The seed is the Word of God

What you are sowing with your words, you are also reaping.  (This is also true of our surroundings. Media input. Commercials we hear etc). 

Speak Life Giving Words

Proverbs 18: 20-21 A man’s [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil].  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

Matthew 12: 34-35 You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.   The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things.

Make sure what you are saying is in agreement with God.

God has given us the authority to speak His words into reality.  When we are in agreement with Him, we can move mountains. 

Mark 11: 23  Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.

Fear comes by hearing or using the words of the world.  Love and Faith come from the Word of God.  Both have the power of attraction.  

You say fearful things, sin and sickness follow.  

This can also be true of your other senses: hearing, seeing, feeling, etc fearful things. 

The 5 senses are of flesh.  We cannot trust in them, they can be influenced by worldly or not Godly things.  But our senses were made by His Word, so His Word can also change the way we see etc. Renew your mind.   

Romans 4: 17

…He speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

The invisible becomes visible, using words. 

Hebrews 11:3

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Hebrews 1:3 ….and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.

Isaiah 55:11

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

    It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Faith comes into play, you must believe God’s Words over everything else. 

Remember when Jairus’ daughter was dying, and he ran to Jesus to come heal her?  But she died before Jesus made it to the house, and when they got news, Jesus says ‘believe, do not be afraid’

Why, because fear is a liar, and steals our faith. 

Mark 5: 35-36

Jesus did Not agree with the announced death, he countered it with ‘she’s only sleeping’.

Faith is life.  Faith is health

(fear is death and sickness).

Matthew 4:4 …It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

Who’s words does Jesus speak?

John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me

Proverbs 4:20-22  20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Psalm 107: 20  He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Jesus said ‘I am the vine and ye are the branches’ John 15:5.  The same life, love, joy, peace, power, wisdom, and ability that flow in the Vine flow into the branch.  

Therefore, declare this with me:

I am the heir of God, and a joint heir with Jesus Christ, Who sits at His right hand.  I have received a rich inheritance. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. My Father loves me as He loved the Lord Jesus. My own wonderful Father is greater than all . He loves me with an everlasting love. Yes, I am blessed with heaven's best, on earth as it is in heaven. 

His Words satisfy our hunger and thirst, and are life giving. 

Matthew 4:4 and John 6:33, 35, 63, Jeremiah 15:16

Closing Prayer:

Thank You for opening my eyes, ears and heart to be open to You, Your Word, and Your spirit. I will hear Your words and I will see what You are doing, and I will not allow a hardened heart to form due to circumstances in life. I thank You that I am hearing and seeing Your living Word, and faith is coming alive within me! Thank You for giving me a deeper revelation of my true identity in You. As I understand the new creation, righteousness, and the Greater One in me, I will become more attune to Your will and share it with the world. In Jesus’ name, we thank You.  Amen!
