8 Healthy Living

Opening prayer:

Thank you Father God for Your healing because we know every good and perfect gift comes from You, who there is no variation or shadow of turning.

You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You healed the children of Israel when they escaped slavery from Egypt and made them strong. You gave them food and water in the desert wilderness, and gave them the promised land of milk and honey.

We thank You Father God that when Jesus suffered our transgressions and gave up the ghost on the cross, it was for our sins and sickness so we do not have to suffer them any longer.

And thank You for giving us ears to hear and the wisdom we need to navigate Your Word, so that we may fulfill Your will here on earth, as it is in heaven.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen

1 Thessalonians 5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paramedic thoughts:

→When a person is bleeding from a trauma, the blood pressure drops significantly.  Why? To slow the bleed, and to encourage clotting.

→When you have a bacterial infection or virus, why do we develop a fever?

Not only does the elevated body temperature cause the infection to start to die off, but it also triggers the body’s immune cascade response to do more, and faster.

→Why do diabetics who have an elevated sugar breathe faster?

To try and offload the waste/acid being caused.

→Why do our muscles cramp after sweating all day in the summer heat?

To warn us that the body is out of water and or electrolytes and now has to steal them from your kidneys and bones (the muscles are literally cramping due to lack of water and or electrolytes), if you don’t fix it, and your kidneys and or bones are also depleted, your heart will start to ‘cramp’ next. (bad)

Inflammation and our perfectly made immune system

Food:

Romans 14: 1-3, 12-17, 19-23

Do not shame people about what they eat. Everyone is different.

And don’t forget Jesus declared all foods to be clean (which does not include inedible items that have been forced into our processed foods).

So don’t feel guilty about eating delicious real foods.  God gave us tastebuds to have joy in eating. (I mean, He did give His people the land of milk and Honey)

Mark 7:19

19 It doesn't go into your heart, but into your stomach, and then out of your body.” By saying this, Jesus meant that all foods were fit to eat.

However:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies

1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Once you realize and stick to a food plan that is right for your body (God’s body, His temple), society will 100% try and shame you or peer pressure you into not following it.

Thoughts about food and hunger are probably wrong. As you start to listen to your body, God's body, you will ‘hear’ and realize what your body needs, (not wants).

‘I want ice cream’.  Ice cream is rich in calcium and salt, which are needs.  The taste of ice cream makes your body ‘want’.

‘I’m starving!’   Your body will tell you to eat something simple and fast that’s high in carbohydrates (which is a societal addiction), but what it needs is a meat/animal protein.

You want kale.   Nobody wants kale, nobody.  But those types of leafy greens are essential to absorbing protein nutrients, and breaking down the meat to digest easier.

Symptoms are a sign of what foods you need also.  Dry skin: drink more water, add lemon (or vitamin C citrus), and eliminate processed sugar (not fruits, but granulated sugars, or anything that has sugar added, like wine, desserts, jelly, etc).

Also, what does your body do that needs more attention?

Like my body has a sensitive gut from that old food allergy/infection thing I denounced, thanks to God.

I also realized I was overeating sugar because I thought my body needed it.  (It was salt it needed.  The sugar is what my body wanted).

Every disease and symptom is caused by inflammation.  So what’s causing the inflammation, how can we control it, and can we declare it gone?

When we feed our perfectly made immune system the nutrients it needs, and cultivate it appropriately, it will yield a harvest of health.

Health is a Harvest

We reap what we sow

Mark 4: 26-29

26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.

So what happens; the 1 grain of wheat falls to the ground off the blade (which has many grains), the grain dies, then is buried, and then grows more wheat which is a ton of more grains.

John 12:24

Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever

1 Peter 1:23

We die as the seed, and born again through Christ and the Word, the fruit of the Spirit is a harvest, and in every fruit, there is a seed. We must sow into our lives not only spirit, but body and soul too.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers

3 John 2

What we feed on is the fuel of our lives. Our bodies feed on food, our minds feed on information, our souls feed on events, relationships, and emotions, and our spirits must feed on the Word, which is Spirit.

Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart…

Jeremiah 15:16

Remember we are the Temple for Holy Spirit, we are the Body of Christ.

God wants us strong and healthy

1 Corinthians 3:16

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 6:19

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Exercise/Activity simple: move often, lift something more than your own body weight after the age of 30.

Did you know that exercise causes ‘good inflammation’, which when activated takes away ‘bad inflammation’?

Rest:

When you don’t rest when you need to, your body will break and ‘rest’ for you.

Rest does not = relaxation, necessarily.

Many people fall into the trap, ‘I worked all day, I’m tired, I’m going to sit on the couch and relax (the rest of the day/evening), and brainlessly watch tv or scroll through my phone.

A body at ‘rest’ will stay at rest.

A body in motion will remain in motion. (newtons law of motion)

Spiritual Food/Rest/Exercise/Activity/Environment/Faith:

Ingest, digest, practice, watch, hear, see, sing, praise, entertain, educate, govern, journal, pray, rest, heal, teach, read, give, sow, live.

Faith: make sure your faith is in Him, not your own strength or knowledge, not some doctor or lifestyle coach, especially not government or for profit health agencies.

Lifestyle: Invite Him into your space, to get wellness, good habits, ask for wisdom, discernment, strength, motivation and rebuke exhaustion.  Ask Him for His rest.

The reason for all of this is not just the positive aspect, filling yourself with light, but also it’s to keep away the dark, the evil, the enemy.  The enemy wants us sick and weak, tired, distracted, unmotivated, overwhelmed, fearful, isolated, doubtful, and likes to place those things that make us feel that way in our paths in life and in our heads/thoughts.

However, focusing on the evil and trying to prevent it can cause an unhealthy anxiety, fear, obsession, and all of these side effects will give the evil power.  So please focus on the light, focus on GOD, even in the storm!

Like David did, not like Job (who whined about his situation and blamed God).

When you keep your eyes and faith in God, He will create a better outcome after the storm, way better than we could have imagined.

John 1:1-5

(Genesis 1:1-2)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

I had an epiphany this week about the authority that we spoke about last week.  The chain of command on authority, your body is under you in the chain of command, and your organs and tissues and cells are under your body.  When you’re obedient to God, your body becomes more obedient to you. God knows what’s up, so do what He says for you to do.  In the midst of unknowns and chaos, He knows how to put it in order.  And when we are under that perfect order, everything under us gets in order.

Closing decree prayer:

We decree a release of the life of Yahweh, flooding eerie dark and dim places in our spirit with the light of Christ, driving out every spirit of sickness, infirmity,  and unforgiveness.

We declare a strengthening of our inner being by the promises of His Word, stirring within us His faith, His hope, and His courage.

We declare that we are a lover of God, sitting beside Him, with a joyful feast of gladness set before us.

We decree to our spirit: Rest, His ways are perfect. Peace, His plans are flawless. Hope, He is forever faithful.  And the fortitude to know when we are hungry and thirsty to read the Living Word to be satisfied.

Thank you Father God for all of this, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
